The Church Council is made up of the:

• Moderator (lay leader of the church)
• Treasurer (keeps financial records)
• Financial Secretary (keeps records of financial contributions)
• Clerk (takes minutes of council and church meetings)
• Head of each of the boards listed below

We are a learning church. The Board of Christian Education is responsible for the education of all ages.

During the school year (September thru June), Sunday School is provided for all ages before service and during service (after Children's Message), Children's Church is another opportunity for children in pre-school thru 6th grade to continue to learn. Child care is provided during service for infants.

During the Summer (usually the first week of August), Vacation Bible School (VBS) gives the kids another learing activity.

The Board of Christian Service leads and supports outreach in the local areas of Pontiac and Detroit as well as in each continent of the world. Many of us are community volunteers. Some of our members have studied to become ministers and missionaries. The missions currently supported are:

• local Missions
• National Missions
• International Missions

The Greek word in the Bible for deacon, diakonos, means servant. Jesus provided the ultimate role model for servanthood. Throughout his ministry, he reminded his followers in word and deed that he was among them as one who serves. Deacons play a key role in moving the church into missions of justice, mercy, and compassion.

The Board of Deacons is responsible for the Worship Service and Communion. Communion is served the first Sunday of the Month.

The care, custody and control of the real and personal property of this Church are vested in the Board of Trustees. The board is empowered to take such steps as are necessary or proper to protect the properties of this Church.
